Nonlinear stabilizability via encoded feedback: The case of integral ISS systems

چکیده

In this note we observe how, using the same arguments of Liberzon and Hespanha [(2005). Stabilization of nonlinear systems with limited information feedback, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 50, 910–915] , integral input-to-state stabilizability with respect to measurement errors is enough to prove stabilizability of nonlinear systems with limited information. The utility of the remark lies on the fact that, under a requirement on the data rate analogous to the one in the paper by Liberzon and Hespanha, the stabilizability result is proven for a larger class of systems. 2006 Elsevier Ltd. Constrained Input-to-state Stability of Nonlinear Systems

Input-to-state stability (ISS), integral-ISS (iISS) and their related notions of input/output stability and detectability have become a useful framework for nonlinear feedback analysis and design. In this paper, a new notion, that of constrained input-to-state stability (cISS), is presented and several characterizations of cISS are obtained. cISS, unlike ISS or iISS, is not confined to forward ...

Stabilizability by state feedback implies stabilizability by encoded state feedback

Encoded state feedback is a term which refers to the situation in which the state feedback signal is sampled every T units of time and converted (encoded) into a binary representation. In this note stabilization of nonlinear systems by encoded state feedback is studied. It is shown that any nonlinear control system which can be globally asymptotically stabilized by “standard” (i.e. with no enco...

ISS properties of nonholonomic vehicles

The paper presents the first result on nonholonomic systems enjoying Input to State Stability (ISS) properties. Although it is known that smooth stabilizability implies ISS, the converse is not generally true. This leaves the possibility of non smoothly stabilizable systems being ISS with respect to a particular input, after an appropriate feedback transformation. This is shown to be true for t...

Remarks on ISS and Integral-ISS Stabilization with Positive Controls

We consider nonlinear systems with both control and disturbance inputs. The main problem addressed is the design of state feedback control laws, achieving ISS and integralISS disturbance attenuation, with restricted control under the assumption that an appropriate control Lyapunov function is known. Our results generalize the previous results on ISS and integral-ISS stabilization to the restric...

Input-to-state stability for discrete-time nonlinear systems

In this paper the input-to-state stability (iss) property is studied for discrete-time nonlinear systems. We show that many iss results for continuoustime nonlinear systems in earlier papers (Sontag, 1989; Sontag, 1990; Sontag and Wang, 1996; Jiang et al., 1994; Coron et al., 1995) can be extended to the discretetime case. More precisely, we provide a Lyapunov-like sufficient condition for iss,...
